Date Smoothie Recipe for Energy

Ingredients
  

  • 6 to 8 pitted dates
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 1/2 cups milk of choice
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats optional
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter or almond butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes optional

Method
 

  1. If dates are dry, soak them in warm water for 5 to 10 minutes, then drain.
  2. Add dates, banana, milk, oats, nut butter, cinnamon, and ice to a blender.
  3. Blend on low speed, then increase speed until smooth and creamy.
  4. Check consistency and add more milk if needed.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more dates if desired.
  6. Blend briefly again if any adjustments are made.
  7. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
