Method
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Rinse asparagus and pat dry completely. Snap off the woody ends.
- Place asparagus on a baking sheet in a single layer.
- Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.
- Sprinkle salt and black pepper over the asparagus.
- Roast for 12 to 15 minutes until tender with lightly crisp edges.
- Remove from oven and add a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.
- Optional: sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
