Flavorful Oven-Baked Teriyaki Salmon Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 to 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • sesame seeds optional
  • chopped green onions optional
  • lime wedges optional
  • red pepper flakes optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil.
  2. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place on the baking sheet.
  3. Rub with olive oil and season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Heat over medium.
  5. Mix cornstarch with water, then stir into the sauce. Cook until thick and glossy.
  6. Brush half of the teriyaki sauce over the salmon fillets.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until salmon is cooked through.
  8. Optional: broil for 1 to 2 minutes to caramelize the top.
  9. Brush with remaining sauce and garnish with sesame seeds, green onions, or lime juice if desired.
  10. Serve hot with rice or vegetables.
