- In a bowl, beat softened butter for about 2 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add powdered sugar one cup at a time, mixing on low speed until combined.
- Add vanilla extract, salt, and corn syrup if using. Mix well.
- Add milk one tablespoon at a time, mixing until desired consistency is reached.
- Beat for 1 to 2 minutes until smooth and creamy.
- Divide and add food coloring if desired, mixing until evenly colored.
- Spread or pipe onto completely cooled cookies.
